SETUP INSTRUCTIONS for Entourage
This set up information applies to Entourage for the Mac which comes with Microsoft Office. Entourage is a Mac version of the popular Windows Outlook email program. The use and setup of this program is similar to Outlook Express which ships with your Macintosh operating system.

When you start the Entourage set up, you will be prompted to enter your name in the boxes provided.
There will be several steps after this whereby you can enter additional information should you wish to use Entourages additional features. |

This section allows you to import information from a previous version, or, a different application all together.
If you are using Entourage for the first time and don't have anything to import, select the first button. |

|
The can enable junk mail filter option at this point. If you don't enable it now, you can always adjust the setting later. |
|
|
|
The name you enter in this box is the name that will be shown on the emails you send out to people. |
|
|
|
Enter your full email address in this format:
johndoe@themacisp.net |
|
|
|
The type of mail server you should select is: POP
Both the "Incoming" AND "Outgoing" mailservers are:
mail.themacisp.net |

|
Your "Account ID" is your FULL email address - with one important change.
You must put the 'Percent Sign' (%) in place of where the 'At' (@) sign normally goes, like so:
johndoe%themacisp.net |

You can name the "Account Name" anything, but it will help you locate it quicker if you call it TheMACisp. |
|
|
|
Our server requires that you authenticate for sending mail.
To set up authentication, click on "Tools" in the Menu Bar and select "Accounts" at the bottom of the pull down menu. |

A new window called "Accounts" will open, this is where your "TheMACisp" email account information is stored.
Double click on "TheMACisp" to bring up the "Edit Account" window. |

Click the button at the bottom labelled "Click here for advanced sending options" |
|
|
|
Clicking the button will bring up a small window. Select the third button down from the top labelled "SMTP server requires authentication". The small round button that automatically selects as you do that needs to say "Use same settings as receieving mail server".
You can now close all the settings windowes.
You are now ready to send and receive email. |
