Although GoLive offers several methods for publishing websites of which TheMACisp supports most, we recommends the FTP method for publishing.
Our example will create a new site using the steps to define an FTP connection. Let's start by going to the pull down menu, and select File - New Site. |
The GoLive Site Wizard will come up. For our example here we will make a Single User site. Click the Single User radio button and then click Next to continue. |
There are several methods to establish sites we will use Blank Site which creates a site from scratch. Click the Blank Site radio button and then click Next to continue. |
Give the new site a name... make it something memorable, in this example we will call it mywebsite.
Site Name: mywebsite
click Next to continue. |
To complete the basic single user site setup choose a location on your workstation for the sites file.
When selected, click Finish to create the site. |
To link the site to the Webserver here at TheMACisp, select Site-Settings... from the pull down menu. |
In the Settings left hand window select FTP & WebDAV Server.
In the right hand window select Edit Server from the FTP Server pop-up menu. |
The Available Servers window will appear. Click the New Server Icon to create a new server instance, then fill in the following information:
Nickname: {anything you want}
Server: ftp.mywebsite.com
Directory: Sites/mywebsite.com
Username: {your username}
Password: {your password}
Click OK to establish the FTP link to our webserver. |
